One great summer I was traveling through Ohio raising money for Muscular Dystrophy. My Rep for 7 Up in the area says Shane I booked a spot on Dialing For Dollars but we only have 45 minutes before air time. I was between shows and about 50 minutes from the station long before cell phones and Google maps.
I came flying in the studio with one minute to spare. The MC Jack, knew as much about me as I did about him however by magic we put together a tag team demo.

Shanes Flying Disc Show and Fox Kids Club
The summers of 1990 and 1991 were two of the best summers in my life. I was part of the entertainment department of a 100 year old Amusement Park called Conneaut Lake Park. I was surrounded by World Travelers and Magicians Skip and Sharon Cain, World Champion Juggler and Yo-Yo expert Jeff Plake, World renowned Ventriloquist Ken Groves who appeared on Arsenio Hall and The Worlds #1 Daredevil Clown Bello Nock.
I played on a large grassy area called the green that over looked the 100 year old hotel and a beautiful lake. The first year it was brown, the second year it was green. One busy day a film crew came to the park an hour or so before my show. It was a Fox news team and the producer was obviously rattled. I approached and said whats the matter. She was upset that the Entertainment director was not there for an upcoming live shot of the park. No one was anywhere to be found. So I said come on I can do this for you. Lets go get some shots of the park and we can have pizza and give away T-shirts to the kids in my show. Everyone calmed down, we got the shots, she made the deadline. When the Entertainment Director Rick got back he was so impressed, I got back stage passes the rest of the year to bands like Kansas, Cheap trick, Bob Dillon, Peter Frampton, Chubby Checker, Jan and Dean, Quiet Riot and then some! Talk about perks! I have always had a fondness for Fox ever since! Here is a short clip of the promo we did. This was back in the old days when news crews used Video. Somehow I managed to save this but my conversion skills need some help. I have to live with the glitches! One day maybe David Weatherly of Roys Folks, Fox 8 WGHP,

Just the other day one of the 12 year old kids that used to be a regular in my show contacted me and thanked me for being a good influence in his life. Phillip Nanni is 31 now. Phillip along with many families lived in the park year round! Imagine a childhood living in an Amusement Park! Thanks for making my day Phillip!
