The Kinks ejecutan su soberbio "Sunny Afternoon" en una de las últimas ediciones de un mítico programa de la televisión inglesa. La actuación data de 1966 y tiene lugar en un show del cual no desvelaré su nombre porque las sempiternas y abyectas razones de copyright me lo impiden. Y digo sempiternas sin ánimo de exagerar, porque los dueños de las grandes compañias se dedican a estirar, cada vez por más años, las leyes de copyright, lo que dificulta el acceso y recuperación de muchas obras (musicales, literarias o cinematográficas) al dominio público. Desproposito al que hay que sumarle la jodida desgana de esas mismas compañias a la hora de reeditar unas obras que languidecen en el olvido, por lo que acaban asumiendo el papel del perro del hortelano..
Por cierto, la calidad de visionado del video deja mucho que desear pero, a falta de que consiga una copia mejor del clip, he estimado interesante su inclusión en mi austero canal con ínfulas de grandeza.
Como, quien más o quien menos, ya conocen la trayectoria del legendario grupo de los hermanos Davies, os traigo una anécdota que relaciona el fascinante universo de los Kinks con el no menos sugerente mundo de la hipnosis. Es el propio Dave Davies en su autobiografía, titulada con el sucinto título de "Kink", quien relata la anécdota, que transcurre dentro de la gira australiana de 1965.
-----"Tras una larga rueda de prensa, me puse a hablar con Tony Worsley y descubrí que antes de dedicarse al mundo del espectáculo había sido hipnotizador. Hizo una demostración con algunas personas del bar y me pareció bastante extraordinario. Era capaz de hipnotizar a la gente sin que se dieran cuenta. Me enseño algunos principios y técnicas básicas. Durante los días siguietnes practiqué con toda persona que estuviera dispuesta.
Una noche había una mujer particularmente bella en el bar del hotel, bailarina de un club nocturno cercano. Tenía un precioso pelo negro que le llegaba hasta el culo. Al cabo de un rato conseguí convencerla de que se sometiera a mi experimento hipnótico. Fuimos a mi habitación y le pedí que se sentara a un extremo de la cama. Después de una breve explicación, comencé. Sostuve una moneda de plata al nivel de sus ojos y le dije que se concentrara en la moneda mientras yo le hablaba con voz monótona. La tranquilicé diciéndole que, durante la hipnosis, si yo hacía algo que la ofendiera o amenazara de alguna forma su moralidad, se despertaría inmediatamente. Otros experimentos me habían salido bien, como hacer que las manos de otra persona se pusieran calientes o frías, o tan pesadas que no pudiera levantarlas, de modo que confiaba en que esto también funcionaría.
Después de los pasos preliminares, conté hasta tres y la chica pareció caer en un profundo trance. Le pedí que se tumbara en el suelo y esparciera su precioso pelo por detrás de la cabeza. Le hice preguntas sobre su trabajo y su familia -algunas de ellas muy personales- y respondio sin ningún atisbo de timidez ni de vergüenza. Al cabo de un rato le pedí que bailara para mi como lo hacía en su trabajo. Hizo su número alegremente, y fue muy erótico. Cuando terminó la senté sobre la cama y le pregunté si le importaba que la besará. Dijo que no, que no le importaba en absoluto.
Procedimos a poner en práctica los pasos habituales del acto amoroso, lenta, libremente hasta el amanecer. Fue una de las experiencias sexuales más sensibles y magníficas que había tenido nunca. Antes de tener ocasión de deshipnotizarla, se incorporó y me preguntó qué hora era. Eran cerca de las siete. Se levantó, se vistió, me dió las gracias y se fue. La sorpresa fue tan grande que no tuve tiempo de pedirle el número, la dirección ni nada.
De pronto me dí cuenta de que probablemente seguía en trance, pues en ningún momento le devolví el control sobre si misma. Corrí tras ella, pero había desaparecido. Volví a mi habitación, pedí que me trajeran un té y reflexioné sobre los acontecimientos de aquella noche. Nunca más volví a ver o saber nada de aquella mujer. ¿Fue un doble engaño? ¿Hizo ver que estaba hipnotizada porque le excitaba la situación? ¿Me tomó el pelo? O, aun peor, ¿todavía hay una mujer hipnotizada andando suelta por Australia?"-----
