Amma inaugurated "Amrita Children's home" for 108 children, providing them with shelter, food, education and healthcare. 2000 poor students received an annual scholarship. A captivating speech by Kenyan Human right activist Dr. P.L. Lumumba. Eric Wainaina, UN Ambassador and famous singer in Africa, performed for Amma. Members of the Masai tribe presented Amma with the title of tribe elder.
