Earth Song Lyrics What about sunrise What about rain What about all the things That you said we were to gain.. . What about killing fields Is there a time What about all the things That you said was yours and mine... Did you ever stop to notice All the blood we've shed before Did you ever stop to notice The crying Earth the weeping shores? Aaaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaaah What have we done to the world Look what we've done What about all the peace That you pledge your only son... What about flowering fields Is there a time What about all the dreams That you said was yours and mine... Did you ever stop to notice All the children dead from war Did you ever stop to notice The crying Earth the weeping shores Aaaaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaaaah I used to dream I used to glance beyond the stars Now I don't know where we are Although I know we've drifted far Aaaaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaaaaah Hey, what about yesterday (What about us) What about the seas (What about us) The heavens are falling down (What about us) I can't even breathe (What about us) What about the bleeding Earth (What about us) Can't we feel its wounds (What about us) What about nature's worth (ooo, ooo) It's our planet's womb (What about us) What about animals (What about it) We've turned kingdoms to dust (What about us) What about elephants (What about us) Have we lost their trust (What about us) What about crying whales (What about us) We're ravaging the seas (What about us) What about forest trails (ooo, ooo) Burnt despite our pleas (What about us) What about the holy land (What about it) Torn apart by creed (What about us) What about the common man (What about us) Can't we set him free (What about us) What about children dying (What about us) Can't you hear them cry (What about us) Where did we go wrong (ooo, ooo) Someone tell me why (What about us) What about babies (What about it) What about the days (What about us) What about all their joy (What about us) What about the man (What about us) What about the crying man (What about us) What about Abraham (What was us) What about death again (ooo, ooo) Do we give a damn

Michael Jackson - Beat It (Live 1996)
uploaded by Esnyperx2 at youtube.com
"Beat It" is a hit single from Michael Jackson's album Thriller, released in 1983 (see 1983 in music). It was the third single from the album, following "The Girl Is Mine" (a duet with Paul McCartney) and "Billie Jean". "Beat It" won Jackson two Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. It was also nominated for Song of the Year along with Jackson's "Billie Jean". Rolling Stone ranked it #337 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. "Beat It" is also notable for its guitar solo, a guest performance by Eddie Van Halen. In a reader's poll made by Guitar World magazine the solo was voted as the 67th greatest guitar solo of all time out of the 100. The lyrics are about life on the streets and gang fighting and killings. In 2008, the song was re-recorded by Jackson and R&B artist Fergie for Thriller 25, a special edition of the original album, commemorating the 25th anniversary of its release. Pop punk band Fall Out Boy also released a cover of the song which featured John Mayer playing the guitar solo. In the years directly preceding "Beat It", Jackson had already composed several of his own hit songs. His Off the Wall album, released in 1979 (see 1979 in music) and produced by Quincy Jones, featured two of his compositions -- "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" and "Working Day and Night" -- as well as a third co-written with Louis Johnson, "Get on the Floor". (Similarly, The Jacksons' 1978 album Destiny showcased his hit song "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)" and 1980's Triumph had the even more prescient "This Place Hotel"). In many respects the Off the Wall album served as a measure of things to come. Jackson and Jones had laid a foundation for putting songs appealing to different segments of their audience together on one seamless record. Jackson's loyal fan base amongst his R&B audience had spread into mainstream for more than a decade, and his songs displayed an uncanny ability to appeal to a fairly wide-ranging group of listeners: those who liked ballads, or dance tunes, or disco, or slightly funkier grooves, or even lighter fare could all find something to appreciate on Off the Wall. With Thriller, Jackson and Jones would attempt at once to hone, embellish, and surpass this feat. One of their ambitions was to include a rock song on the new album. They took partial inspiration from another chart-topping rock song by The Knack. According to Jones, "I said at the time, 'I need a song like "My Sharona"... A black version of a strong rock and roll thing, with the power of everything else he [wrote].' And [Jackson] hit it right on the head." Kicking off with an instantly recognizable gong (from a Synclavier) which quickly segues into an equally distinctive rapid fire drumbeat and then the ongoing guitar riff, "Beat It" speaks of urgency from the outset and indeed plays out like the urban cousin of "My Sharona". The lyrics to "Beat It" are an immediate, frightful warning to avoid fighting and violence at all costs, especially when honor seems to be at stake ("It doesn't matter who's wrong or right") and Jackson sings them forcefully, near the top of his register. Providing a dramatic electric guitar solo during the bridge of the song is Eddie Van Halen from the rock group Van Halen. According to Jones, when he first contacted the guitarist about appearing on the song, Eddie Van Halen didn't believe he was who he said he was, or that the offer was authentic. Nevertheless, he went on to provide the defining element that set the song apart from other Jackson tunes to date. Eddie Van Halen, famously, did not request payment for his performance. Steve Lukather, who played lead guitar on the track, stated: "Quincy Jones and Michael took a skeleton version of "Beat It" up to Eddie Van Halen's place as they wanted him to solo over the verse section. However, he played over a section that had more chord changes. So to fit his solo to where it went in the song, they had to cut the tape which took a lot of time to synchronise together." "After they had managed this, Jeff Porcaro and me were called in to bind Eddie's solo and some haphazard percussion which was a major headache. Initially, we rocked it out as Eddie had played a good solo but Quincy thought it too tough. So I had to reduce the distorted guitar sound and this is what was released. It was a huge R&B/rock success for us all really and helped pave the way for the bands of today that fuse these styles." In 2001, during Jackson's 30th Anniversary Special, he and guitarist Slash performed "Beat It" on stage, accompanied by dancers portraying gangsters. He ended the performance by recreating the dance scene from the video. 1 - Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2 - Baby Be Mine 3 - The Girl Is Mine 4 - Thriller 5 - Beat It 6 - Billie Jean 7 - Human Nature 8 - P.Y.T. Michael Jackson - Bad (Live Bad Tour 1987)
uploaded by Esnyperx2 at youtube.com
"Bad" was a 1987 hit recording by American singer Michael Jackson. The song which has become one of his signature songs, was the second of five Billboard Hot 100 number-one hit singles from the album Bad, and was his seventh number-one single overall. The song was originally intended as a duet with longtime rival Prince. Quincy Jones, in an interview included in the Special Edition of "Bad", said that Prince told Jackson and him that he hadn't wanted to participate because "it would be a hit without (him)". In his 1988 autobiography Moonwalk, Jackson wrote: "'Bad' is a song about the street. It's about this kid from a bad neighbourhood who gets to go away to a private school. He comes back to the old neighbourhood when he's on a break from school and the kids from the neighbourhood start giving him trouble. He sings, 'I'm bad, you're bad, who's bad, who's the best?' He's saying when you're strong and good, then you're bad." In 2006, the single, as well as the video, was re-released as part of the Visionary - The Video Singles package. The music video for "Bad" was the most expensive up to that point, surpassing the $800,000 budget of "Thriller" with an impressive production of $2,200,000. It was the most expensive video of all time until March 1995, when Madonna's Bedtime Story was premiered The full music video for "Bad" is an 18-minute short film written by novelist and screenwriter Richard Price, directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Michael Jackson. Jackson portrays a boy named Daryl who has just completed a successful term at an expensive private school. He returns to the city by subway, arriving in a derelict neighborhood. Daryl arrives to find his house empty (his mother is played by Roberta Flack, albeit in voiceover), but is greeted by his old friends, led by Mini Max (an emerging Wesley Snipes) and spends an evening with them. At first relations are friendly, if slightly awkward, but the situation deteriorates once the rest of the gang realise how much Daryl has changed, and in particular how uncomfortable he has become with their tendencies towards petty crime. In an attempt to show his friends he is still bad Daryl takes the gang to a subway station where he attempts to mug an elderly man but bottles out at the last minute. Mini Max berates Daryl and tells him that he's no longer 'bad'. Bad is an album by pop singer Michael Jackson, released on August 25, 1987 by Epic/CBS Records. Released nearly five years after the phenomenon of Thriller, the album remains Jackson's second biggest-selling album globally to date with sales reaching 32 million copies. Jackson began recording demos for the anticipated follow-up to Thriller a few months after his last performance with The Jacksons after their successful Victory Tour. Recording took place between January 5 and July 9, 1987[3] (except for "Another Part of Me" which was recorded for Captain Eo in 1986). Jackson wrote a reported sixty songs for the new album and recorded thirty, wanting to use them all on a three-disc set. Instead his longtime producer Quincy Jones cut it down to ten tracks and a bonus song making it a single LP. The CD release contained the bonus track, "Leave Me Alone". Jackson wrote nine of the eleven tracks himself while Terry Britten (writer of Tina Turner's "What's Love Got to Do With It") and Graham Lyle wrote "Just Good Friends" and Siedah Garrett and Glen Ballard wrote "Man In The Mirror". Contributions from other musicians included Stevie Wonder who sung a duet with Jackson on "Just Good Friends" while Steve Stevens contributed a guitar solo for "Dirty Diana". Originally "Bad" was to have supposedly been a duet between Jackson and Prince. However, the duet was canceled after, Jones said, Prince told him that the song "would be a hit without (him) on it". Prince later jokingly assumed the reason for not performing the song was he was concerned about the "your butt is mine" lyric. Another song, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", was also supposed to feature a famous female singer. Reportedly Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston all turned down the duet offer. R&B singer-songwriter Siedah Garrett was picked by Quincy Jones to sing with him on the song. Song choices were difficult: according to Jones, he and Jackson discussed two songs Jackson penned that Jones had wanted from the album. While Jackson had written a song called "Streetwalker", Jones loved Jackson's "Another Part of Me". Jones said the decision to include "Another Part of Me" was due to Jackson's manager Frank DiLeo "shaking his ass" to "Another Part of Me". Jones also said Jackson chastised DiLeo, who he nicknamed "Rubba", for it.

Michael Jackson - Black or White (Live)
uploaded by Esnyperx2 at youtube.com
"Black or White" was the first single taken from Michael Jackson's album Dangerous, released in October 1991. "Black or White" is a mix of hard rock, dance and rap. Written, composed, and arranged by Jackson with the rap lyrics by Bill Bottrell, it is a song that promotes racial unity. The song's introduction and main riff is performed by guitarist Slash. The song peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart, as well as in 18 other countries. The music video for "Black or White" was first broadcast on MTV, BET, VH1, and FOX (after the episode of The Simpsons) on November 14, 1991. Along with Jackson, it featured Macaulay Culkin, Tess Harper, and George Wendt. It helped usher in morphing as an important technology in music videos. The video was directed by John Landis, the same director as Thriller. The first few minutes of the video featured an extended version of the song's intro, in which a young kid (Macaulay Culkin) is playing loud music in his bedroom at night, and is yelled at by his enraged father (George Wendt), who demands he stops playing the music and go to bed. Culkin decides to forego his father's request to go to sleep by setting up large speaker cabinets behind his father's reclining chair, donning leather gloves and sunglasses, and playing an extremely loud power chord on an electric guitar. The sound shatters the house's windows and sends his father (seated in his chair) halfway around the world, where the actual song starts. Culkin's mother declares that his father will be "very upset" upon his return. The song from the CD does not use Culkin's nor Wendt's voice; they are replaced by voice actors performing a similar intro. Wendt winds up in Africa, and Michael Jackson begins to sing "Black or White", surrounded by various different cultures scene-by-scene. Dangerous was the first album Michael Jackson released in the 1990s, on November 22, 1991. It became Jackson's second album to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart, where it spent the next 4 weeks selling 7 million copies in the U.S.; his third best-selling album there. With sales of approximately 30 million copies worldwide[1], it is Jackson's best-selling recording of the nineties and near ties with Bad as his second-best selling album, behind Thriller. Recording sessions for the album began in Los Angeles at Ocean Way/Record One Studio 2 on June 25, 1990 and ended at Larrabee North and Ocean Way Studio on October 29, 1991 (according to the sleeve notes of the Special Edition of the album), being the most extensive recording project of Jackson's career until that time (over sixteen months compared to the usual six months spent in the recording of his previous three studio albums). In March 1991, Michael Jackson signed a 15 year, 6 album deal to Sony Music. The press reported that Sony actually handed over $1 billion to Jackson, but that was not the case. At the time, Sony estimated that if the albums Jackson released under the new contract sold at the same level they currently sold, it would generate over $1 billion in profits for them. Additionally, Jackson was awarded the highest royalty rate in the business. By the time the contract expired in March 2006, Michael would have been paid $45 million from Sony ($1 million a year, plus $5 million per album delivered). This does not include money he would have also earned from sales of albums, singles, videos etc. Under this contract, Jackson is estimated to have earned $175 million from album sales alone. At this point, Dangerous was already in the making and Jackson ended his association with Quincy Jones, in favour of the producing talents of new jack swing inventor Teddy Riley. Jackson also decided to deliver a compact disc full of material. The previous Bad was his last album designed for the LP industry, containing the usual ten songs and lasting under 50 minutes. In the other hand, Dangerous was a 77-minute, 14-song album, almost daring the capacity of early Nineties compact discs. Consequently, the record was released as a double album in vinyl .The famous album cover was designed by Mark Ryden . The first printing of the album was released as a large box with a picture of Michael Jackson's eyes, which folded open to reveal the normal cover, in pop-up card, with the CD, and booklet in the bottom. Dangerous was heavily anticipated, as highlighted by an incident at the Los Angeles International Airport that witnessed a group of armed robbers stealing 30,000 copies of the new album before its official release. 1 - Jam 2 - Why You Wanna Trip On Me 3 - In The Closet 4 - She Drives Me Wild 5 - Remember The Time 6 - Can't Let Her Get Away 7 - Heal The World 8 - Black Or White 9 - Who Is It 10 - Give In To Me 11 - Will You Be There 12 - Keep The Faith 13 - Gone Too Soon 14 - Dangerous

Elizabeth Taylor -"Michael Jackson" - by Richard Bassett
uploaded by richardbassett1956 at youtube.com
The friendship between Dame Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Jackson began in 1985. Just as Elizabeth was obtaining the foundation to tackle HIV/AIDS discrimination in America...she met Michael Jackson. Their common bond has been working since they were very young children, thus, being robbed of a childhood but now they, no doubt, love each other very much. It is a very special, private relationship... not to be discussed or picked apart by those who know no better. In my eyes, Michael is a special man, vindicated from horrendous accusations and....as a fan, I intuitively believe that he will make the biggest comebacks in the history of show business. It is in the stars. Dame Elizabeth's attachment to complex, multi-dimensional people goes back to 1949 when her friendship with Montgomery Clift began. Monty was a tormented soul. She always knew the strength that was needed to maintain balance in this entertainment industry and has always possessed it herself. Her need for HIV/AIDS fundraising does not stem from wanting to feel important or prove anything to the world. It comes from her heart and soul. It comes from experiencing such loss that has encompassed her for two decades now. In the most egotistical, self-serving business that exists today, she gives of herself freely choosing to ignore all of that other superfluous stuff. Please donate if you can. Jackson 5 - The Love You Save [Live In Gary]
uploaded by MJJplanet at youtube.com
Jackson 5 sing Live at First "The Love You Say" in Gary/Indiana. Lyrics! J5:Stop! Na na na! You'd better save it! Stop, stop, stop, you'd better save it! Michael: When we played tag in grade school You wanted to be It. But chasing boys was just a fad You crossed your heart you'd quit. When we grew up you traded Your promise for my ring Now just like back to grade school You're doing the same old thing! CHORUS: Stop! The love you save may be your own! Darling, take it slow Or some day you'll be all alone. You'd better stop the love you save may be your own! Darling, look both ways before you cross me You're headed for the danger zone. Michael: I'm the one who loves you! I'm the one you need! Jermaine: Those other guys will put you down As soon as they succeed! Michael: They'll ruin your reputation! They'll label you a flirt! Jermaine: The way they talk about you They'll turn your name to dirt, oh! Second verse: Michael: Isaac said he kissed you Beneath the apple tree When Benjie held your hand he felt E-lec-tri-ci-tee! When Alexander called you He said he rang your chimes. Christopher discovered You're way ahead of your times! CHORUS: Stop! The love you save may be your own! Darling, take it slow Or some day you'll be all alone. You'd better stop the love you save may be your own! Darling, look both ways before you cross me You're headed for a danger zone. BRIDGE: J5: Slow down. Slow down. Slow down. Slow down. Michael: S is for "Save it" T is for "Take it slow" O is for "Oh, no!" P is for "Please, please, don't go!" Jermaine: The love you save may be your own... Michael: Some day you may be all alone... Jermaine: Stop it! Michael: Save it, girl! Jermaine: Baby! Ooooh! Michael: Youu better stop the love you save may be your own Michael: You'd better stop! the love you save may be your own! Jermaine: Please, please Or some day, some day baby, You'll be all alone Michael: I'm the one who loves you! I'm the one you need!
