Django Reinhardt - September Song (Unpublished Version)
uploaded by cattialove at youtube.com
SOURCE WIKIP2DIA

Django Reinhardt was perhaps the greatest guitarist to ever live. A Gypsy who made his jazz guitar speak with a human voice, he was dashing, charismatic, childish and doomed to die young after creating a legacy of Gypsy Jazz that remains vibrant today. By Michael Dregni

Django Reinhardt - I'm Confessin' That I Love You (1934)
uploaded by edmundusrex at youtube.com
Although Django Reinhardt was famous for his mood swings and volatile temper, his unique guitar work remains beyond reproach and nearly impossible to copy. A fire cost him the use of two of his fingers on his left hand, forcing him to adapt his style to accommodate his handicap. Of course, he would turn this apparent limitation into an asset. Partner Stephane Grappelli was no doubt frustrated by Reinhardt's fiery demeanor and his nearly confrontational rhythmic support. Clearly, however, Grappelli translated this frustration into musical magic--the unlikeliness of the pairing was central to its amazing success. If you enjoyed this post, please donate anything you can (before August 2008) to Cancer Research UK using the link http://www.donatetomyrelay.org/gtc Here's the great guitarist Django Reinhardt performing that anthem to the South 'Lily Belle May June'. A serious caravan fire in 1928 deprived him of two fingers on his left hand- due to this disability, he developed a revolutionary playing style. Not sure who the vocalist is...but apparently, on the old plantation life is one long celebration! Tell that to the cotton pickers...
