He came to Bird Lovers Only Rescue Service, Inc. (a 501c3 not for profit bird rescue and sanctuary) in August 2007 and continues to make us laugh with his fancy footwork. In The Tradition of Ed Eldridge as Buffalo Bill, The Minks travel the US showing their multi-talented Cowboy and Cowgirl skills.
The Rhinestone Roper Show
Featuring The Mink Family (Dan, Kimberly, and twelve-year-old Cody) from Jerome, Idaho. The Minks have thrilled audiences from coast to coast with their award winning trick roping, bullwhip cracking, knife throwing, gun spinning and quick draw shooting (We do not bring knives or guns to schools unless requested for safety message). The show also includes amazing tricks by Lucky Joe the Trick Horse. Some of the Minks notable achievements include:
Dan is the 2007 World Champion Gun Spinner, recipient of the Joe Bowman Showmanship award for Gun Handling and was chosen by the Fox Network to appear on the TV show 30 Seconds to Fame in Hollywood, California
Kimberly is the seven-time World Championship and current Guinness World Record (published in the 2008 Guinness World Record Book page 260) in the Women's Big Loop and featured appearance on Ripley's Believe It Or Not! spinning a big loop around a record 15 steers all at one time.
Twelve-year-old Cody was named Most Promising Young Roper at the 2003 International Wild West Arts Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada, is the two-time World Champion in the Texas Skip Race and is published in The Guinness Book of World Records for the youngest person to ever win that competition (2008 Guinness World Record Book pg. 260).
The Family has appeared together in many news and t.v. specials and was recently featured in the ABC Family Show "WIFE SWAP".

Many of my China Grove Jr High friends may remember the man that whistled the tune for The Andy Griffith Show that came to our school in the 8th grade. I worked eventually for that same agent that brought him to our school. I have a new Professional Whistling friend named Phyllis Heil. Phyllis has appeared on Jay Leno and most recently after a long hot rainy day on NASCAR's Fast Track To Fame for The Big Race 2010!
